Spacesaver Opens Permanent Showroom in Chicago's Merchandise Mart

New space gives architects and designers keen insight into storage solutions that help end-users manage time, space and security issues within their respective industries

(June 3, 2008) — Architects and designers can now see firsthand how Spacesaver Corp.’s innovative, customer-centric storage solutions help end-users better manage time, space, and security in their respective industries – thanks to the company’s permanent showroom at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. The new 1,000-square-foot showroom debuts at NeoCon World’s Trade Fair 2008, June 9-11.

“Our innovative storage solutions are specifically designed to help decision-makers better manage the unique time, space and security challenges they face today,” said Dennis Estenson, vice president of marketing for Spacesaver Corp., a division of KI, Green Bay, Wis. “Partnering with specifiers during the planning process is paramount to ensuring we meet our collective clients’ mission-critical business strategies and objectives. This permanent showroom is a perfect venue for the A&D community to gain invaluable insight into the extensive thinking that goes into our aesthetically appealing and value-driven storage solutions.”

An example of Spacesaver’s approach is the FrameWRX™ Storage System, which will be on display at NeoCon. FrameWRX was developed in response to the healthcare industry’s need for quick and accurate access to supplies and pharmaceuticals at the point of need. The modular design of FrameWRX also makes it easy to reconfigure as storage needs change.

At this year’s NeoCon event, Spacesaver will also present the XTend™ Mobile High Bay Storage system. An industry first, the XTend system was specifically designed for those who need to free up increasingly precious onsite space. In creating the 30-foot-high system for academic libraries and a host of commercial and government applications, Spacesaver delivered a highly efficient means for storing and retrieving archived media off-site.

“An XTend system provides more storage in a smaller building footprint potentially saving organizations millions in construction, operation and energy costs. It also contributes to sustainable facility design and LEED certification initiatives,” Estenson said.

In addition to FrameWRX and XTend solutions, Spacesaver will interchange displays at the showroom over time to showcase the full breadth of storage solutions offered. The company, which shares the space with its independent, Chicago-area distributor, Bradford Systems Corp., will also use the space for training and sales activities.
