The offices of The American Jewish Committee, a human relations agency dedicated to protecting the rights and freedoms of Jews all over the world, renovated eight floors of its New York City headquarters. As part of the project the Blaustein Library, which has the most extensive collection of American Jewish history, was redesigned as a showpiece for the agency. Case-type shelving with solid maple end panels provides an upscale look for the high-profile library. The end panels were designed to match the millwork throughout the library in order to give the room a cohesive and upscale look. A designer-grade Spacesaver shelving color was selected to enhance the overall aesthetics of the room. Open access stairs were added to connect the library to the agency’s lower level Records Center, providing access to special collections and non-current periodicals stored on Spacesaver cantilever shelving. The library maintains archival materials dating from 1906. Storage solutions (design, layout and installation) provided by Bob Medwin, Modern Office Systems, New York, in conjunction with Spacesaver Corporation. Spacesaver Corporation is proud to introduce a new color palette of paint options for our high-density mobile, storage and shelving systems. Click here for more information.
